If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is your spot. This is a beautiful, peaceful park nestled into the rolling hills of the Shawnee National Forest. We stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend and amazingly enough, the campground wasn't full. The campground was within walking distance of the cave and the Ohio River. The area also offers a lot of other natural, beautiful spots to visit. The campground is well maintained and almost all of the sites are shaded by large, mature, hardwood trees. The sites are large with plenty of space between them. We were able to set up our badminton game and had lots of room for the kids to play. The campsites have asphalt pads with picnic tables and a fire pit at each. My only complaint: the shower in the bath house was turned on by push button with no way to control the water temperature and the water was terribly hot. I would camp here again.
We enjoyed camping here. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. The sites are gravel but level. We liked the fact that you get to pick your own site. The sites are all shaded, and it is very quite and peaceful. The shower house was very clean and heated. Giant City Park is very beautiful with a lot of interesting rock formations and trails to hike on. We would camp here again.
Adequate place to park for the night with hookups. They had a big laundry, and a well stocked convenience store. The RV area is in the back and the truck area is in the front, so no chance of truck noise or anything. They also had a big laundry, and plenty of elbow room. All the sites are satellite friendly, but have shade trees. The pull-throughs are large enough for any size BigRig and tow car. We are in 42' MH, towing a truck, and there is room for another toad back there! Gravel sites with big grass area between sites. Tables at each site, but no fire rings. We would stay here next time we are in the area.
